Listening to: Taufik Batisah A heavenly bed, crisp linen as white as freshly fallen snow. Scattered across the bed are blood red rose petals. You swiftly scan through the room as the sunlight bursts through the half open curtains and your eyes meet with such a perfect creature, who resembles a fictional prince: Dark short hair, intense brown eyes and a god-like body. He's stretched out elegantly acoss the bed while gesturing for you to come over. Hesistantly you step towards him, he seemed to be glowing as the sunlight bounced off his chocolate brown skin.... |

Instinctively, I excitedly nudged my soon-to-be-mum. I couldn't wait to arrive in to the world and to make her and Daddy happy. A few days later I felt my Mummy growing weaker and weaker but I don't know why. I was painfully thirsty and there was nothing I could take to quench my thirst, I was anxiously fumbling around in the dark compounds of my mother's womb trying to find a way to survive, to grow, to be born, to live. I tried to resist but I was too thirsty and took a sip of the red coloured liquid inside my mother- it was unimaginably addictive with its velvet like texture and coaxing aroma. Soon I realized that I couldn't stop! This liquid, whatever it was, made me stronger and more alive. I kept on drinking and drinking until I felt someone stroking me. I was certain it was Mummy, her hands felt warm like any other human but I could tell by the way the cradled me protectively and tensed her muscles that something was wrong. I could here an angelic deep voice. He spoke melodically "Bella, if that foetus survives it's highly likely that you won't. You must." "No! I can't I love this child and I'll do anything so my baby can live" They were clearly talking about me..but why was the inhumanly comforting voice saying my Mummy would die? It wasn't true! I know she'll live, she'll live a long and happy life with me and my Daddy. Everything was going to be perfect. I protested this ridiculous idea with a hard kick and instantly felt Mummy flinching- despair and sadness filled me. I tried to apologize, I wasn't trying to hurt her. I was trying to make a point. I didn't mean to and I hope my Mummy could hear that. The anger that enraged me made me even more thirsty so I returned to drinking the addictive liquid... It was one of those dreams, the ones where you woke up terrified stiff but couldn't remember the reason behind why your limbs frozen by fear. Megan easily soothed herself back to sleep..leaving Tyler to shake uncontrollably in the dark shadows of their bedroom.
Another flash illuminated the night sky shortly followed by several similar flashes and deafening crashes of thunderbolts. One bolt of lightning embraced the shape of the Goddess Venus- the light held this unusual position and the figure crept closer and closer to the twins' house. A motionless Tyler was frozen under the bedsheets, his heart racing like a greyhound: every second was like an eternity, every breath was like a blizzard and every drop of sweat like an overflowing ocean in which he drowned in. The toe of the lightening goddess lightly tapped the phone cable of the twins' house and it merged in to the metal cord not leaving a trace... Labels: starlight |

Just to clarify the answer to the riddle was that the doctor was the kids Mother =) Megan and Tyler were ferternal twins, 5 years old and bursting full of umtameable energy. They were always up and about striking adrenalin through the veins of many adults but one day this way of life came to a grinding halt. One night the stars glistened and they were more spectacular than usual- there was something mystical that was intertwined in the skies that night. As the eerie pale moon radiated it's intoxicated yellow ray of light through the window, the dark clouds began to cover the night sky; silently devastating the peaceful aura with a loud crash of thunder. The twins sharply shot out of their beds with a stream of tears racing down their devious faces. Megan's hazel eyes were filled with tears to the brim while Tyler let out a mournful cry that pierced their house and sent terrifying echos booming back. (To be continued) |

In the hospital the doctor who was supposed to operate on the surviving son said "I can't operate on him because he is my son". Who is the doctor? Answer next week ;) Labels: riddle |

A ruthless roar of commands came from behind Selina, as she innocently rotated her head. That same woman with her fiery red hair, chucked a pile of papers on Selina's desk: As she slammed down the last pile of papers her dainty hand collided with the edge of a sheet and the thin paper sliced through her finger like a speedboat through water.
"Ouch! You fucking piece of shit!" exclaimed Gemma with a horrid look on her face. She shoved her bleeding finger blindly in her mouth and hissed "Deal with it" at Selina. Then she walked away leaving her footprints of destruction. There was a mass of photocopying to be done by Selina, but her co-worker Linda offered to help. Linda happily stacked a pile of papers until only her sapphire blue eyes were visible; she steadied herself and walked out of the room. Selina soon followed. Both women looked as if they were carrying a mountain of paper as the stumbled past Carlos' office. A light gust of wind gently pushed his door, revealing something unexpected...so unexpected that Selina dropped her paper mountain like a sack of potatoes and immediately fell to her knees. Amongst the mad morning rush for the trains in Central London was one particular woman who stood out from the crowd. A fair skinned tall brunette in a pinstripe business suit, strolling along the platform casually. The Gucci sunglasses neatly heald back her hair, while her red lips were defined with a light shimmer from the Sun. As Selina boarded the carriage she searched for a seat nearby brushing against many people on her way. One devious looking woman with flaming, long, red locks of hair shot Selina a look of superiority and her arrogance splashed through the air and filled the crowded carriage.
Upon arriving at Embankment station Selina stretched her long legs and headed for the exit. She arrived at her luxury office right on time: as always Selina exchanged pleasantries with anyone and everyone, she sent smiles across the room and angelically glided to her desk. The morning went especially quick today and before Selina knew it lunch had arrived. Her dashing co-worker looked as if he popped right out of a magazine shoot! His perfectly quaffed head of hair, shining white teeth and the most spectacular blue eyes. He opened his mouth and requested for Selina's presence with him at lunch, she simply couldn't resist and let out a childish whimper under her breath. Selina reached for her bag and pushed herself out of her extremely comfortable leather office chair; so soft that her hand left an indentation on the chair which slowly disappeared. Being the gentlemen that he is, Carlos held the glass door open for Selina and gestured her to come through. Shyly she walked and just about managed to send a flawless smile directed to Carlos. The two walked together while talking about the days events until an uneven pavement surface caused Selina to become unbalanced and head flying towards the rough cement- heroically Carlos knelt down just in time to save Selina from a treacherous fall. The Sun was directly above them signalling 12 noon and a ray of Sunlight hit Selina's eyes making them more dazzling than usual & capturing Carlos' heart in an instant. The two hurried in to a small resteraunt and enjoyed each others company. They exchanged numbers, addresses and e-mails. Towards the end of the lunch Selina excused herself to the ladies room to freshen up; to her dismay she caught a glimpse in the mirror of a woman that she recognised from earlier- it was the same red haired phoenix whom she crossed paths with in the train. The fearless red head stormed out of the toilet slamming the door shut behind her. Selina was bewilered and did not know what to make of it, what had so done to anger this woman who she has never seen before until today? Quickly Selina slapped on some lipstick and checked her eyeliner and swiftly made her way out. Carlos immediately saw that something had startled Selina and asked her if anything happened, she faked a smile and told Carlos that she was ok..although Carlos knew she was hiding something. The couple made their way back to the office and Selina called for the lift. They said goodbye in the lift and Carlos stylishly walked out of the lift turning back to catch a last glimpse of Selina as the doors of the lift collided to a close. Selina arrived on her floor and hesistantly creeped towards the open door of her office, she pushed the door open slightly and walked cautiously towards her desk. Suddenly she felt an unusually cold hand touch her shoulder, whoever she was her red fingernails rebelliously radiated from her hands... |
